It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that I can be a little theatrical.
Raised on Gone With the Wind and Cabaret, I’ve always taken a dress-up approach to clothes, something that should mean I am always dressed fabulously but instead causes me to get a little overwhelmed by what I would ideally like to be wearing and instead I end up wearing a lot of ‘work-wear pyjamas’ as my husband calls them.
Recently, though, I was invited to a wedding, and if you can’t dress up for a wedding, then there’s no hope for anyone any more.
Vivienne Westwood inspired pink and red makeup along with a 1950s/Marie Antoinette outfit was the result – these are the photos!
Top – Frilled crop top, black, by Zara – £9.99. You can buy it from Zara here
Skirt – Ivory skirt with black polkadots, vintage.
Choker – I can’t remember where this was from!
Ring – Primark! They have a similar one listed on their website here but it’s probably best to just go in and have a rummage 🙂
Clutch bag – actually a makeup bag from H&M – I can’t see it on the website though I got it very recently, but I did spot this one from H&M which I think would have been perfect!
Wrap/scarf – Fine-knit scarf, from H&M – £6.99. You can get it here.
Skin – Foundation is MAC Mineralize Moisture SPF 15 in NW 15.
I didn’t contour this time! Instead I just used a nice bright blush from Illamasqua in the shade Hussy.
Eyebrows – Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
Eyes – I used the shade Gossip from the Full Spectrum palette by Urban Decay.
Then my usual cat eye with gel eyeliner from Maybelline.
Lips – my trusty Chanel Rouge Allure in No.9, Lover. I was given this lipstick as a gift when I was 16 and I don’t honestly care how long you’re meant to keep lipstick for, this one is mine and I’m never parting with it.
Thanks for reading lovely 🙂
